Treatment tried and tested: Sports Massage

Deep tissue massage that focuses on problem areas. Targets knots and works on releasing muscle tension. As this massage involves stroking against the muscle grain, it may in some cases, cause discomfort and soreness for couple of days after treatment.

Treatment process

I was trying out for a trial session that I chanced upon this. I opted for deep tissue massage as I am often working in front of the computer and suffer from back aches, shoulder and neck strain for long hours. It was comforting to know that the therapist I happened to have was pretty experienced to focus on the areas which were tense although she had to ask me to relax a few times.

This was mainly because whenever she rubs on the tension to loosen the knots, I would tense my muscle up as I was a little too painful for me. Honestly, this is not one of the massages that are relaxing and you can sleep in during the process.

It is very much focused on getting the knots out to increase the flow of blood circulation and reduce the tension in your muscles. So likely or not, you will cringe with every movement the therapist make.

You can let your therapist know your preference on the areas you wished to focus on ie. Calf muscles if you generally do a lot of sports.

Facilities: 7/10 (Basic facilities but rooms are not very spacious though)
Service: 6/10 (Sales consultants are quite pushy and quite difficult to book appointments though – at least for Cathy).
Effectiveness: 8/10 (Therapist is quite good and experienced.)
Location: 7/10 (near Dhoby Ghaut  MRT – 5 to 10 min walk)
Overall rating: 7/10 (Suggest that you try their massages only as the rest of my friends not very pleased with their facial though I have never personally tried it.)
